Subdecay Super Spring Theory Reverberator PedalOne of the best spring reverb pedals just got even better! Subdecay’s original Spring Theory pedal took a reverb pedal’s design and pared it down until it was nearly as simple as the very spring tank it is derived from. Two knobs adorned it: Reverb and Depth, and a simple toggle switch to turn the Spring mode into Room mode.
The new Super Spring Theory adds two more knobs: Dry and Tone, and an additional toggle: Trails. Brian from Subdecay overhauled the original Spring Theory to address every customer need from the first iteration.
Some folks thought that maybe the Spring Theory tone was a tad bright, while others liked it the way it is. For this ambivalence, a Tone knob was added. Some people claimed the pedal needed a mix, hence the addition of the Dry knob. However, above all else, several people wondered whether the Spring Theory has some sort of hidden control that allows reverb trails to be heard after the pedal is turned off. It didn’t, but the Super version has this located on the face of the unit.
One thing that was not changed, was the reverb algorithm—perhaps the most convincing in the digital reverb realm. With this as its foundation, the Super Spring Theory is an incredible feat of engineering and well worthy of the “super” moniker.
The Subdecay Spring Theory runs on 9–18v (with 18v being for more headroom) with a 2.1mm center-negative Boss-style plug. The current draw is less than 100mA—isolated power supply ready!?
Features:
• Powered by a regulated 9VDC to 18VDC adaptor with a negative center 2.1mm barrel style plug.
• If using a “daisy chain” power supply, all other pedals MUST be negative ground.
• Current draw is less than 100mA.
• Length 4.4? X Width 2.3? X Height 1.0?
• Input impedance- 1M.
• Output impedance- 1K.
• Designed and handcrafted in Oregon.
• Die-cast metal enclosures for durability.
• Red LED indicator.
• Three-year limited warranty from Subdecay.
